My Story

Heidi Peterson is the founder and owner of The African Cowgirl fashion brand. With over 30 years of experience, she has mastered the art of creating costumes for theatre, equestrian performances, and African-inspired dance pieces for Cleo Parker Robinson Dance.

Heidi’s creative journey has taken her to Senegal, West Africa, more than seven times, where she collaborates with talented local tailors and artisans to develop a fashion line that reflects her unique blend of Colorado equestrian lifestyle and Senegalese horse culture. She is dedicated to sharing her vision and passion for fashion with the world.
